Founded in the summer of 2022, Converge is a regional Young Adult Ministry formed through the collaboration of several parishes within the Diocese of Rochester. What began three years ago as a small handful of Young Adults has now blossomed into a vibrant ministry which has served and continues to serve over 400 Young Adults in the greater Rochester area.

 

Converge’s mission, as with the parishes we serve, is to proclaim the beauty, truth, and goodness of the Christian faith by serving as a welcoming and hospitable environment for Catholics, non-Catholics, and the seeking alike. In a special way, we strive to live out this vocation by reaching out to those who, though raised Catholic, have left or felt disengaged from their faith. Our slogan, “find a place to belong” seeks to embody this vocation by creating a welcoming environment for young adults in all walks of life; both personal and spiritual. 

 

An essential component of Converge’s growth and success in reaching young adults has been our intentional commitment to creating events that partner “faith” and “fun” together. From Catholic Q&A Nights and Masses to Ice Cream Socials and Indoor Volleyball nights, we strive to meet the needs of our young adults both spiritually and socially. We also love to take fun day trips to surrounding cities like Buffalo, Syracuse, and Ithaca where we can view and learn about beautiful Catholic churches, while also hanging out together doing things like mini golf and seeing the sights.  

 

One thing that sets Converge apart from other ministries is our frequency. In 2025, Converge hosted 110 total events with an average attendance of 27. To help us put on so many events, we have built a 9 person team made up of parish staff and volunteers alike to facilitate, plan and coordinate events! Spiritually, Converge’s approach to the faith seems to be working as in 2025, over 9 friends either became Catholic or began the process to become Catholic! Practically, for some, they may even meet their future spouse! In 2025 there were 8 Engagements within Converge!
